5 Common Plumbing Problems
These common plumbing problems are some of the most annoying, but often the easiest to fix (even if you need to hire a plumber to help).
1. Toilets that run on
If your toilet takes forever to refill or doesn’t stop that refilling sound, it could be running on and wasting all that water in the process. This can be caused by worn out internal workings or calcification in hard water areas. Having the insides or parts replaced at minimal cost can save you money on your water bills.
2. Taps dripping
The most annoying sound? A tap dripping! Luckily, these most often can be fixed with a new washer or replacement tap. The best bit is that these are easy jobs to do yourself (don’t forget to turn your water off first).
3. Blocked drains
Blocked drains can make for a smelly home and are such a common plumbing problem. We’ve detailed some tips on clearing blocked drains here.
4. Water pressure
If your home suffers from low water pressure, it may be that you have too much demand on a system that can’t handle it. Choosing the right boiler for your home can drastically change water pressure issues. You may need a system boiler if you have multiple bathrooms.
5. Plumbing problems with old and leaking pipes
Old pipes can wreak havoc, especially if the leaks are not identified immediately. Hiring a plumber to replace old and broken pipes can save you thousands in water bills and damaged decor in your home.
